This really needs comments from owners or managers. The one waitress quoted doesn’t address the questions you raise. A2- Rodriguez

Angela Rodriguez is a full- time student with a major in Communications and a double minor in marketing and early childhood education. Although school is Rodriguez’s main priority, she also works as a child and youth program assistant on Fort Wainwright in a Kindergarten classroom. While attending Lathrop High School, she served as editor for the school newspaper and wrote for the yearbook.  

Billie Chavez is an IT Specialist for the University of Alaska Fairbanks, Kuskokwim Campus. Technology enthusiast and problem solver to faculty, staff, and most important students. Billie, a 54-year-old student is working on her bachelor’s in communication degree, with two minors in Spanish, and Information Technology. Life seems backwards as Billie and her husband already raised six children, now contemplating where to retire in this beautiful state we call Alaska, once she graduates.

Stray dogs pose problem in remote Alaska communities

The stray dog problem affects villages all over the Yukon-Kuskokwim Delta. This is due to lack of vet care as well as no animal shelters. Groups are working to fix this problem, but it’s no easy task as it’s almost impossible to spay and neuter every dog and there isn’t a place for every stray dog to go. Village Public Safety officers have turned to having dogs shot and killed for a bounty in places where the problem has gone too far.
